We made four new formulas, each with one job, and kept our daily sachet as the foundation. This is why we exist, who is on the box, and what we hold ourselves to.
Why Plentum exists
You notice everything about your dog. The second sniff at a full bowl. The scratch that wasn't there last week. The way they find your feet when the sky gets loud.
We're dog people first. Plentum started as a passion project, built for the dogs who shaped our lives, and the rule was simple: everything we make, we'd give our own.
So we went looking at what was already out there. We kept finding big promises on the front and thin print on the back. Chews held together with binders. Long lists of names with one small total at the bottom. We wanted a label you can read, doses we're willing to print, and honest words about what we know and what we don't.
Our dogs taught us the rest: keep a routine and notice small changes. We try to build the same way, with one clear job, done properly, every day.
“Everything we make, we’d give our own.”
The rule Plentum started with, and still the first question we ask.
- 5 formulasAll vet formulated. One job each.
- Every mg printedEach active and its amount per 2 g sachet, on the box.
- Every lot checkedEach lot ships with its own Certificate of Analysis.
The ritual: tear, pour, stir
7 a.m. They already know the sound. Every Plentum formula comes as the same flat, sealed 2 g sachet. You tear the top, pour it over the food they already eat, and stir. Add a little warm water if your dog likes a gravy.

There's no new bowl, no food switch and no scoop to level. Each sachet is one serving, and bigger dogs get more of them: one to four a day by weight.
The routine is the point. Tomorrow, you do it again.
-

1. Tear. One sealed 2 g sachet, opened on the day you use it.
-

2. Pour. Over the food your dog already eats. No new bowl.
-

3. Stir. Add a splash of warm water if they like a gravy.
Swipe for all three steps.
One sachet, one job
For a while, one sachet was enough. Then dog parents kept asking us the same four questions. What helps a tummy that's off after a food switch? What helps a dog stay settled in a storm? What can I give a dog who scratches every spring? How do I help my dog hold a healthy weight?
Those are four different questions. One formula can't answer all of them well, so we didn't try. We kept Microbiome Care as the everyday foundation and built four focused formulas beside it. Each one has a single job, and its name tells you what that job is. Meet all four on our new formulas page, or read on.

Sachet, chews or scoop?
Dog supplements mostly come in three shapes: soft chews, a tub of powder with a scoop, or a single-serve sachet. Here is how they differ in the ways that matter on a busy morning.

Soft chews
- Binders
- Usually need binders and texture agents to hold a chew shape.
- Dose clarity
- A set amount per chew. Blends often print one total, not each active.
- Freshness
- A jar you open every day.
- Per-day cost
- Price per chew times chews a day for your dog's size.
Scoop powder
- Binders
- No chew shape to hold.
- Dose clarity
- Depends on how level the scoop is, every morning.
- Freshness
- A tub opened daily; the scoop goes in and out.
- Per-day cost
- Price per scoop times scoops a day for your dog's size.
Plentum sachet
- Binders
- No binders. A powder doesn't need one.
- Dose clarity
- One 2 g serving with every active printed in mg. Bigger dogs take 1 to 4 sachets by weight.
- Freshness
- Each serving stays sealed until you tear it.
- Per-day cost
- From $1.50 a day for the new formulas, $1.17 for Microbiome Care (one-time price, smallest size).
A general comparison of formats, not of any particular brand. Check the label and the serving size of anything you buy.
The dogs on our boxes
Every box carries its own illustrated dog, and no dog ever moves to another formula. They're how you tell the sachets apart at a glance on a busy morning.
- Microbiome Care has a golden dog sitting in the lavender, the steady one, there every day.
- Gut Restore has a corgi flat on its back, belly up. A comfortable tummy looks like that.
- Calming Care has Pip, a spotted pup asleep on a lavender bean bag. Calm, not sedated.
- Itch & Immune Care has Copper, a golden retriever with eyes closed in a breeze full of leaves.
- Metabolic Care has a beagle clearing a log mid-leap, with energy for the walk.
Look closer and you'll find the same paw on a looping line on every box. It ties the range together: same ritual, same standards, a different job.

How we hold ourselves to it
A promise is only useful if you can check it. Here is what ours mean in practice.
- Every lot tested. Each lot has its own Certificate of Analysis. Lots of the four new formulas are tested for Salmonella, E. coli, coliforms, Staphylococcus aureus, molds, dryness and live probiotic count. See the first-lot results.
- Real doses on the label. Every active and its amount in milligrams per 2 g sachet, plus directions by weight and cautions. See the research behind each active.
- Vet formulated. All five formulas, from the foundation to the four new ones.
- No binders. A powder doesn't need a binder to hold a shape. Check the ingredient list on any box.
- Made with care. The four new formulas are made in Canada in an FDA-registered facility, following current Good Manufacturing Practices. Microbiome Care is made in the USA. Every box says “Manufactured for Plentum Inc., New York, NY”.
While the new sachet line ramps up, every sachet is weight-checked on a balance before it goes in a box.

Where a study exists, it studied an ingredient, not a Plentum product, and we say so. We haven't run clinical trials on our own formulas, and we'll never say we have.
The research behind the ingredients
We picked each active for its job, then read what has been published about it. Here is one ingredient per formula: what the studies looked at, what they found, and how the amount in a sachet compares. These are studies of the ingredient, not of a Plentum product, and we say so every time.

In a 14-day placebo-controlled study in 24 dogs, the oral-health postbiotic used in Microbiome Care was associated with 27% lower breath sulfur compounds than placebo. The study was funded by the ingredient's supplier and tested the ingredient alone, not Plentum.
A second 14-day placebo-controlled study in 24 dogs, at a lower 150 mg dose of the same postbiotic, found breath sulfur compounds 26% lower than placebo on day 14. Supplier-run; tested the ingredient, not Plentum.
Sordillo A et al. Animals 2025, doi:10.3390/ani15111596 · Sordillo A et al. Journal of Veterinary Dentistry 2026, doi:10.1177/08987564261437296

In a 35-day randomized study in 25 healthy kennel dogs, S. boulardii did not change stool scores but was associated with lower fecal markers of gut irritation and stress hormones. Tested the yeast alone, not Plentum.
S. boulardii is one of five strains in the proprietary probiotic blend (L. casei K9-1, L. fermentum K9-2, L. brevis WF-1B, L. reuteri WF-1 and S. boulardii), 10 billion CFU per sachet. The box doesn't print each strain's share, so we don't compare doses.
Meineri G et al. Veterinary Sciences 2022, doi:10.3390/vetsci9080389

In an open-label study in 33 cats, L-theanine tablets were well accepted and owner-rated stress signs fell over 30 days. There was no placebo group and the maker co-authored it; not a dog study and not Plentum.
Calming Care has 200 mg of L-theanine per sachet, with GABA, magnesium and L-tryptophan. Dog research on L-theanine is still limited, and we'd rather tell you that than overstate it.
Dramard V et al. Irish Veterinary Journal 2018, doi:10.1186/s13620-018-0130-4

In a 28-day placebo-controlled study in 30 healthy dogs, the immune-health postbiotic used in Itch & Immune Care was associated with better skin-and-coat scores and lower scores on an itch rating scale than placebo. The supplier funded the study, and it tested the ingredient alone, not Plentum.
The study used 150 mg a day. One Itch & Immune Care sachet has 250 mg of the postbiotic (CIHP), alongside algal DHA, colostrum and quercetin.
Sordillo A et al. Animals 2025, doi:10.3390/ani15142019

In exercising Labrador retrievers, 250 mg/day of L-carnitine was associated with better activity and lower muscle-strain markers. Not a weight-loss study; not Plentum.
In obese pet cats on a supervised weight-loss diet, adding L-carnitine was associated with faster weight loss. Cats, not dogs; diet did most of the work; not Plentum. Metabolic Care has 75 mg per sachet, 75 to 300 mg a day by weight, alongside portion control and exercise.
Varney JL et al. Journal of Nutritional Science 2017, doi:10.1017/jns.2017.4 · Center SA et al. Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine 2000, doi:10.1892/0891-6640(2000)014<0598:tcameo>2.3.co;2

The foundation: Microbiome Care
Microbiome Care came first, and it stays first. It is the everyday sachet: an oral-health postbiotic, a prebiotic, fish oil and colostrum to support gut and oral health, skin and coat. In our customer survey, about 70% of owners noticed fresher breath. Results vary.
Gut Restore: a settled gut

For food switches, travel and the days a tummy feels off. Gut Restore pairs a proprietary probiotic blend (10 billion CFU, including S. boulardii) with psyllium, slippery elm and organic pumpkin. Its one job: normal bowel function and healthy stool consistency.
Calming Care: calm, not sedated

For storms, car rides, vet visits and time alone. L-theanine, GABA, magnesium and L-tryptophan, with chamomile and a postbiotic, and no melatonin. Its one job: a calm, relaxed demeanor during situational stress, while your dog still feels like themselves.
Itch & Immune Care: comfortable skin and coat

For seasonal scratching and a coat that has lost its shine. A canine immune postbiotic, algal DHA, colostrum and quercetin. Its one job: a normal immune response to environmental and seasonal triggers.
Metabolic Care: a healthy weight, with the plan

For dogs working toward a healthy weight with measured meals and more walks. Acacia fiber, L-carnitine and white kidney bean extract. Its one job: support proper weight management. It sits alongside portion control and exercise. It doesn't replace them.
How to choose
Start with what you're noticing in your dog right now. If you're not sure, our 60-second quiz asks about your dog and points you to a formula and a size.
- One thing on your mind? Pick the formula with that job.
- Two things? A two-formula bundle pairs them, and the total sachets are set by weight.
- Gut Restore and Microbiome Care work best one after the other, not together, so we don't bundle them.
- Your vet comes first. If your dog has a health condition or takes medication, ask before starting anything new.

FAQ
What are Plentum's new dog supplements?
Four focused formulas: Gut Restore, Calming Care, Itch & Immune Care and Metabolic Care. Each is a 2 g sachet with one job, stirred into the food your dog already eats. They sit beside Microbiome Care, our daily foundation.
Can my dog have Microbiome Care and a new formula together?
Yes for most pairs, and our two-formula bundles are built that way. Gut Restore and Microbiome Care are best used one after the other rather than together. Count the total sachets for your dog's weight, and ask your vet if your dog takes medication.
When do pre-orders ship?
The four new formulas ship by Monday, October 26. Microbiome Care ships now.
Why a sachet instead of a chew or a scoop?
A sachet is one sealed 2 g serving. A powder needs no binder to hold a shape, there's no scoop to level, and each serving stays sealed until you tear it. Bigger dogs take more sachets: 1 to 4 a day by weight (1 to 3 for Microbiome Care).
How does the LAUNCH25 code work?
LAUNCH25 takes 25% off one-time purchases of the four new formulas and bundles until October 25 at 11:59 PM ET. One use per customer, and it can't be combined with other offers. Discounted orders are final sale.
Are these formulas medicines?
No. They are supplements that support everyday wellness, and they are not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease. If your dog has a health condition or takes medication, talk to your vet before starting anything new.
