In this guide

  • Vomiting that repeats or continues
  • Diarrhea, especially with another health change
  • Blood in the stool or black, tarry stool
  • Lethargy, pain, or refusal to eat
  • Itching, hives, or facial swelling

Introduce one supplement at a time according to its label, and keep a record of stool, appetite, and energy.

Plentum's starting directions differ from the instructions for other products.

If you see vomiting, diarrhea that lasts, or any sign that your dog feels unwell, stop and call your vet.

Why should you add one supplement at a time?

When two things change at once, you cannot tell which one caused a shift in stool or appetite.

Adding one product at a time keeps the picture clear.

It also gives you a clean record to share if your vet asks questions later.

How do you start a new supplement?

For Plentum, start with half a dose for three days.

If your dog remains well, follow the full weight-based label directions.

Keep food, walks, and treats the same during that time, unless a medical plan requires a change.

Mix the sachet into a small amount of the usual meal so your dog finishes it.

Plentum Advanced K9 Gut Restore is a daily supplement, so it is best judged over weeks, not days.

The first days are about checking tolerance, not looking for results.

What should you record during the introduction?

Write one line each day. Describe stool appearance consistently, and note anything unusual, even if it seems small.

Record Useful detail
Product and dose What was given and when
Stool Appearance, frequency, and any blood
Appetite Usual, reduced, or absent
Behavior Energy, discomfort, or unusual restlessness
Other changes Food, medicine, treats, or illness

Do not assume a change in stool or appetite is a normal adjustment.

Record new signs and contact the clinic if your dog seems unwell.

Write each change in your log rather than changing the dose on your own, and follow the instructions you receive.

When should you call the vet?

  • Vomiting that repeats or continues
  • Diarrhea, especially with another health change
  • Blood in the stool or black, tarry stool
  • Lethargy, pain, or refusal to eat
  • Itching, hives, or facial swelling

If any of these appear, stop the new supplement and let your vet decide the next step.

Supplements support daily health and do not replace a medical check.

How long before I judge a daily supplement?

Give Gut Restore 2 to 4 weeks of daily use before you judge it.
